My Ad Account was hacked in February 2020 when I decided to promote my consultancy business on FB with a $10 US ad budget. This was the first time I used FB's ad service and in a short time my credit card was hacked to the tune of $1,000 US.
Two bogus ad accounts were created and many flyers in the back end. My bank told me it was my fault and wanted me to pay the bill. Needless to say it was a back and forth and it was super difficult to reach FB. I had to make payments to the bank and eventually FB responded and reimbursed my card.
It was super frustrating to communicate with FB and that added to my stress. After they paid back my card, they did not remove the ad accounts that were created by the hackers and the bill they racked up. FB wants me to pay the bill. This does not make any sense to me.
It was already proven that it was a *** to my account and why did they not do a complete fix in the situation? Now I am trying to learn the back end i.e. Ads Manager and Event's manager and am employed by a company that took one of the three slots for Ad accounts. I cannot practice on their backend.
Super Frustrated once again, and I think it is very unfair that they are holding me to ransom to pay back a bill that was the result of hackers. Has anyone else ever experienced anything like this?
You can see from the names of the bogus accounts that obviously it was a hacker. Please contact me at vanpeyrefitte@***.com
Preferred solution: I would like FB to delete the bogus ad accounts created by hackers and wipe the bill the hackers made. I should not have to pay a bill that I did not generate. .
